The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office uses a third-party vendor to register and offer Deputies secondary employment to provide security, traffic control and other law enforcement needs for private events. The secondary employment of Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputies is limited to those jobs that, by nature, will not detract from the image of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. All secondary employment applications must be submitted two weeks prior to the event date in order for Deputies to sign up.

The employing entity must complete and submit an application for approval. The application will be approved or denied based on the type of business and needs of those requesting employment of the Deputies. This application must be approved before procuring the employment of Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputies. An employing entity will be required to compensate the assigned deputy pursuant to a fee schedule from our vendor.
