This information is provided for persons or organizations wishing to employ extra-duty Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies for security, traffic control, and other law enforcement needs. The secondary employment of extra-duty Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies is limited to those jobs that, by nature, will not detract from the image of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. All extra-duty applications must be submitted two weeks prior to the event date.
The employing entity must complete and submit an application for approval. The application will be approved or denied based on the type of business and needs of those requesting employment of extra-duty deputies. This application must be approved before procuring the employment of Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies. An employing entity will be required to compensate the assigned deputy pursuant to a fee schedule listed in the attached document.
